Douglas Sutherland, MD

Dr. Douglas Sutherland is a pediatrician at Ko'olauloa Health Center, providing care for children and adolescents from birth through age 18. Whether a child is coming in for a well-visit or a family is navigating a more complex health concern, Dr. Sutherland is a steady, caring presence for the keiki of the North Shore.

What drew Dr. Sutherland to this community — and what keeps him here — is something that is harder to find than good weather or beautiful coastline: a genuine culture of family. He has seen it up close, organizing his mother's 75th and 80th birthday celebrations and drawing inspiration from the way North Shore families mark life's milestones together. Graduations, weddings, funerals — people travel across oceans to show up for one another. That kind of devotion leaves a mark.
