Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Status / Time: Full-Time

Job Description & Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as the focal point for all the financial operations of Ko’olauloa Health Center (KHC) activities. Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO develops and executes financial policies and procedures. The CFO is directly accountable for the functions of the grants’ accounting, budget preparation, the planning and development of fiscal services, billing and other operations as may be necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, updates and supervises fiscal/billing structure to provide effective daily operation.

  • Assists in developing and reviewing all program budgets.

  • Under the direction of the CEO, will develop and execute financial policies and procedures.   

  • Initiates and implements financial systems responsive to the changing needs of KHC.

  • Provides regular and special reports for evaluation of continued viability of programs and departments.

  • Prepares monthly, periodic, and annual statistical and fiscal reports in a timely manner.

  • Controls cash flows and maximizes returns on available case and investment income.

  • Evaluates and recommends pricing and fee structure related to the costs of service.

  • Provides a process for the control and preservation of agency assets.

  • Responsible for internal audit function and internal controls.

  • Implements and monitors compliance with current and new accounting policies and procedures.

  • Coordinates all necessary fiscal and budgetary materials pertinent to submission of proposals for agency contracts and other funding opportunities.

  • Prepares and integrates departmental goals in the agency budget.

  • Participate in Finance Committee and Board Meetings.

  • Coordinates the preparation and execution of the annual audit.

  • Supervises and evaluates accounting, finance, and billing staff.

  • Assists CEO and Chief Operations Officer (COO) in grant writing related activities.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or is a Certified Public Accountant.

  • Experience in supervising staff members.

  • Working knowledge of total quality management concepts, statistical tools, and continuous quality improvement techniques.

  • Experience in the health care industry is preferred.

  • Systems oriented.

  • Accurate, neat, and able to complete tasks in a timely manner.

  • Able to work alone and with initiative.

Working Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.

Position Type and Expected Hours
This is a full-time position and hours of work and says are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hybrid work is allowed as long as a minimum of 3 days a week is done in-person at KHC’s office.

Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and out-of-the-state travel may be expected.

Proof of immunization or serology required for:

  • TB screening
